Lead through Empathy

I first met Pat as the Reading Curriculum specialist in her office at Biltmore School when I was student teaching. She always had a smile and a good sense of humor. If you ever met her dad who worked in the AV basement department he was the same way...jolly. As assistant principal, then principal back in the good ol' days of Fairview Elementary (see photos I posted from 1988 and 1990 yearbook) she lead through firm kindness and understanding. You could always find her when you needed her and I guarentee you received a card of appreciation. I still have cards she wrote after she enjoyed a school production I put on. Thank YOU, Pat. You touched so many.
