The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Patricia Gowan-Metcalf can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

LEGACY

This wonderful lady hired me almost 30 years ago, and from that day on, she became my mentor, my encourager, and my dear friend.  There are many fond memories that I could share, but the one that stands out the most is when my son, a former FES student, was in the service.  He was  stationed in many different places.  Often long  periods of time would pass when I wouldn't hear from him, but whenever I did, it was usually during the middle of the school day and I was in class with students. Whenever  that would happen, she would personally come to the class that I was in and tell me to go to her office and take his call in private, while she would stay with the class. I will ever be greatful to her for all that she did for and taught me and my children. She was always willing to help make everyone feel important, respected and cared for.  We and our children are so blessed to have experienced her guidance and  leadership.  Her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of thousands of chilren whose lives were touched throughout her career.
