Obituary for Harold Bailey

Harold  Bailey
Harold Bailey, 76, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 5, 2014. Born in Madison County on March 27, 1938, he was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Jakie Bailey, brother Howard Locke “Butch” Bailey, sisters Ruth Coates Daniels, Bobbie Bailey Carter and Rosalie Bailey Cooke, and grandson Camden Phillip Bailey.
His lifelong duty as a public servant began with his enlistment in the United States Army in 1957. Following his military service, he embarked on a new career in law enforcement, providing many years of honorable service to the citizens of Buncombe and Davidson counties. Most gratifying were his 22 years of employment with the 24th Judicial District as Administrative Assistant to the District Attorney.
He is survived by his loving wife and devoted caregiver, Geraldine McFarland Bailey of the home, daughter Angie Bailey Brock and husband Sid of Asheville, son Chad Bailey and wife Kristi of Weaverville, and his six precious grandchildren who brought joy to his life, Morgan and Cameron Brock, and Hayden, Auburn, Brendan, and Ian Bailey.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Antioch Baptist Church in Weaverville, with Rev. Steve Conard and Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
