Obituary for Bessie Sophronia Coates (Davis)
Bessie Davis Coates, of Marshall, age 97, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Jeff and Ella Jenkins Davis. She is preceded in death by her husband, JR Coates, Jr., brother WJ Davis, sister, Ruby Davis and infant son, William Coates.
She is survived by her daughters, Iva Norton and Evelyn Brown (Dewey); son, James Coates; granddaughter, Patricia Diane Beck (Darren) and great granddaughter, Sabrina.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Garland Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
