Obituary for Kenneth Neil Maxwell
Kenneth Maxwell, a native of Madison County, passed away at his home in Leicester Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the age of 80. He was the son of the late Charlie and Viola Capps Maxwell. He is preceded in death by sisters, Sylvia Maxwell and Faye Honeycutt, and brothers, C.T. Maxwell and Cecil Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Owenby Maxwell; daughter, Emily Robertson (Earl); sons, Martin Maxwell (Tammy) and Tommy Maxwell (Carolyn); step daughters, Tammy Clark (Jeff) and Tina Sampson (Dwight); sisters, Barbara Ray (Wendell) and Phyllis Stevens (Floyd); brothers, Sam Maxwell (Betty Jo) and Gerald Maxwell (Ernestine), sister-in-law, Irene Maxwell, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Kenneth was an employee of 33 years at Three Mountaineers and five years at Drexel Heritage.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 28th at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Phillip Parker and Andy McDevitt officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel at Blue Ridge Funeral Service.
