Johnny Clyde  Blankenship
Johnny Clyde Blankenship, 73, of 510 Sprinkle Creek passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was a native of Madison County and the son of the late Conley and Kitty Wyatt Blankenship. Mr. Blankenship was a member of Blue Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, US Army Veteran and a retired employee with Davy Tree Company. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Edna Hughes and a brother Charles Blankenship.
He is survived by his wife, Ann McKinney Blankenship; sisters, Shelby Lloyd (Dallas), Mildred Winders (William), Alma Toms and Edith Franklin; brothers, Boyd Blankenship (Irene), and David Blankenship (Dee); Sisters-in-law, Alma Blankenship and Gail Carroll (Kevin) and brother-in-law, Harold McKinney (Joyce); several loving nieces and nephews. And a Special Friend “Buddy”.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, April 15th at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Justin English and Rotha Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Madison County for care given to Mr. Blankenship.
