William Douglas "Bill"  Hall
Rev. William “Bill” Douglas Hall, 80, of 20 N. Hall Drive, Weaverville passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016. He was the son of the late George Franklin and Edna Douglas Hall. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Robert G. Hall. Bill served 4 years in the US Marine Corps. He received an Associate of Science Degree from Montreat Anderson College and his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of N.C. – Asheville. He graduated Erskine Theological Seminary and Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta where he completed his Greek Studies. Rev. Hall was awarded one of three scholarships for 1980 to Asheville Presbytery’s Candidate for the ministry by The First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville in NC. Rev. Hall previously pastored at Brittains Cove Presbyterian Church, Boyd’s Chapel, Honea Path Presbyterian Church and Avon Park ARP Church.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn Fox Hall; daughter, Cindy Head; sons, Jeff Hall (Connie), Scott Hall (Bobbie); grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Big Courtney, Little Courtney, Lindsy, Cassie, Christopher, Haley and Hunter and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Dr. Randy Ruble and Rev. George Hutchins will officiate. A private burial will follow in the Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
