Obituary for Margaret Robinson (Chandler)

Margaret Robinson (Chandler)
Margaret Chandler Robinson, 96, was promoted from Earth to the presence of her Father on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Everyday Margaret hoped for Jesus to come back. She never really wanted to live to be really elderly and for 23 months she was anxious to join Travis, the 68 year love of her life. However, God gave her the ability to have real joy and peace that “God must be leaving me here because He still has something for me to do.”
What “Mommo” did was to lovingly teach others that Jesus was the source of that joy and peace.
Her 96 ½ years were spent as a teacher. In her first paid teaching took her across a foot log to hike up the mountain to a one room school near Burnsville. She ended her career at the Orthopedic School (now on Care Partners campus in Asheville).
“Aunt Gogwit” taught an appreciation for beauty and unconditional acceptance of people and a joy of tithing and a love for travel. She memorized hymns and countless scripture and served as a Bible teacher to children and women.
Going on before her were her parents, Chester and Bessie Chandler; husband Travis Robinson; infant son, Timothy Travis; brother, Dr. Weldon Chandler; sister, Dorothy Ballinger.
She is survived by daughters, Carol Jensen (Gary Jensen), and Becky Eller; grandchildren, Sheri Rose (Mitch Rose), Daniel Jensen (Anne Jensen), Kari Brown (Jason Brown), David Hill (Pamela Hill), and Natalie Hill and Kim Hill; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Marisa, Jesse and Sarah Rose, Brooke, Andrew and Hannah Jensen, Madison and Jackson Brown, Ethan and Travis Call; nine nieces, five nephews and their spouses; and devoted caregivers, Velma Chandler, Peggy Reemes and Mark Lisenbee.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Reverends Ben Whitmire, Steve Harris and Rev. Dr. Walter Ponder will officiate.
A private burial will be held at 3pm Friday, October 16, 2015, at Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
