Annie Mae Ponder Fox, 89, of Water Shed Road, passed away peacefully at Mission Hospital, Thursday, September 10, 2015. Mrs. Fox was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lillie Mae Shepherd Ponder. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Wade Fox; sisters, Ruby Crowder, Dolly English; brothers, Raleigh, Willie Jay, Raymond, and L. E. Ponder. Mrs. Fox attended Laurel Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, LaVerne Warren (Danny); son, Larry Fox (Ella); a special granddaughter she raised as her own, Stephanie Sexton (Kevin); grandchildren, Brian Warren and Larry Joe Fox (Tya); six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Clifton McCurry, Bobby Sprinkle and Kermit Ball will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fox Cemetery in Yancey County. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
