James Whitt, age 72, passed away at his home in Mars Hill Saturday, July 11, 2015. He was the son of the late Hardy and Zenobia Wyatt Whitt. He is preceded in death by his sister, Alease Ponder.
James was a retired truck driver for Ingles, a member of North Buncombe First Church of God and a member of the Trustee Board.
He is survived by his wife, June Hilton Whitt; daughter, Lisa Price (Roger) of Arden; son, Allen Whitt (Kim) of Mars Hill; grandchildren, Tasha, James, Lacee, Caden, Nicole, Brian, Josh and Mikey; great grandchildren, Lily and Paisley.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, July 13, 2015 at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Raymond Cantrell officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Ivy Ridge First Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
