Obituary for Harry Alden Boyd

Harry Alden  Boyd
Harry Alden Boyd, 98, of 146 Station Gap Dr., Marshall, passed away, February 11, 2015, at Mission Hospital. Mr. Boyd was the son of the late Robert and Ellen Payne Boyd. He was a former employee at Chesterfield Mills and retired from Burlington Industries. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. After retirement Harry enjoyed gardening, weed eating and mowing. He loved sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends on his front porch and will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Mr. Boyd is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Opal Ledford Boyd; daughter, Jan Buckner (B.J.) of Marshall; son, Tommy Boyd (Janie) of Walnut; grandchildren, Jeffery Boyd (Tammy) and Melissa Caldwell.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Friday, February 13, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Jimmy Dean Hensley, Robert Elliott and Bud Marlor will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bowman-Rector Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
