Robert Hensley, age 79, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014. He was the son of James and Berlie Ray Hensley. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lucille McKinney.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mildred Ballard Hensley; two stepdaughters, Susie Gardner (Larry) and Linda Rice (Ronnie), both of Mars Hill; Sisters, Gladys English and Hellen Norwood and a brother, Charlie Hensley; and grandsons, Jodie and Andrew Rice and Keith English.
Robert loved country music and sang and played at church and other places.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 2nd, at Upper Laurel Baptist Church with Reverends Cline Junior Hensley and Hayes Carver will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM prior to the service. At other times the family will be at Linda Rice’s home, 3978 U.S. Hwy 23, Mars Hill. Interment will follow at Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery.
