Corlus Beatrice Owenby Goforth, 68 of Hot Springs passed away at her residence Friday, November 25, 2016. She was the daughter of late Raymond and Viola Tweed Owenby. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Weaver Goforth and sisters, Rebecca Creasman, Marva Bradley and Maxine Fuller.
She is survived by daughters, Tammy Goforth, Mindy Lopez (Kenneth); son, Steve Goforth (Jacqueline); sisters, Jewel Teaster, Alma Hopskon (David), Annette Austin (Jason); brothers, Raymond Owenby, Roland Owenby (Lavada), Brisco Owenby (Shirley) and Danny Owenby (Carol); six grandchildren,1 great grandchild and special friend, Joyce Reece.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Solid Rock Full Gospel Tabernacle in Hot Springs. Reverend James White will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12 – 2 pm prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations made to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754 to assist with final expenses.
