Obituary for Roy Allman

Roy Davis Allman 93 years old born December 31, 1922, departed this life on October 8, 2016. He was the son of the late Loans and Fonella Davis Allman. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a brother Grady Allman.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Edna Rice Allman; daughter Kaye Allman of the home; son, Alvin Allman (Vickie): sister, Celeste Williams; grandchildren, Benjamin, Angel and Gideon Allman all of Marshall.
Roy was a faithful member of Bull Creek Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Before coming to Bull Creek he was a member of Newfound Baptist Church where he served as a Youth and RA Leader and deacon. He was active with The Gideon’s International, Mars Hill Lions Club and Madison County Jail Ministry. He enjoyed spreading the gospel, telling others about Jesus, meeting other people and working with youth. He was an electronic technician for several companies. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, gardening and just “tinkering around”. But mostly spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Troy Rogers and Wesley Pike will officiate. Burial will follow in Bull Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
