Condolence: So sad to hear of Betsy's passing. She was my baby sitter in the 70's and loved and took the best care of my boys. In the previous Ingles store she would yell my name when she saw me. She was such a joy to be around with her contagious smile. Heaven has truly gained an angel. Prayers of comfort to the family.

I had the pleasure of having her as a neighbor growing up and have many happy memories of her walking multiple dogs that she had taken in and delivering fresh baked cookies to my daddy's shop. As a teenager, I was thrilled when she hired me to work at the greenhouse. She taught me so much about flowers and I'd spend my paycheck buying more to go home and plant. I still think of her often in my garden. 🌺 Bill, Walt, Ann, and all the family, your devotion and care for her these last few years has touched the hearts of many. You have honored her so beautifully. I have no doubt she entered heaven with joy, shouting "Hey neighbors!"

I worked for a little while in the Office of Admissions at Mars Hill, back in the 70s, and Betsy was the light that lit up the whole operation. I imagine any of us who worked there, even briefly, still remember her hoarse little laugh that came so easily and the smile, that is the same in the picture on this page. I can't believe that she has left this world so soon, and I am so terribly sad to hear it. She is alive in my mind's eye and in my heart. Peace be with you, even as your hearts are breaking.

Condolence: I'm truly sorry that we are not in NC right now so that I can come by and say goodbye to such a special person that has meant so much to me in my life. Betsy is a part of most of my childhood memories from church, school, Halloween, the Greenhouses, and friendship with Walt and Ann. She made the world a brighter and friendlier place. Her energy was contagious and uplifting. An angel among us on earth, Betsy will make a glorious angel in heaven. Walt, Ann, and Bill, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
