Edna Ingle Selzler, 94, of Black Mountain passed away April 24, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Letha Ingle. Edna graduated from Mars Hill High School in 1939, then attended Mars Hill College, and later completed Blanton’s Business College. She was a supervisor at Hammerland Manufacturing Company and later retired as office manager of Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Edna was a member of Weaverville Baptist Church. She volunteered many years with Swannanoa Christian Ministries. In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Howard C. Haynie; sister, Dallie Ferguson; brothers, Ilva and Ziska Ingle.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert F. Selzler; daughters, Linda Harrell and husband Don and Lisa Godfrey; step-daughter, Edith Gibbens; grandchildren, Danna Stansbury and Cale Godfrey; great-grandchildren, Chase and Gabriel Stansbury, and Terra Godfrey; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ruth Jadeed.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 28, 2016, from 11:00am-12:00pm, at Blue Ridge Funeral Service, with a graveside service following at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Rev. Tommy Justus will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International, Madison County Camp, PO Box 1182, Marshall, NC 28753, or My Sister’s Place, PO Box 457, Marshall, NC 28753.
Edna will be remembered for her beauty, kindness and wonderful sense of humor.
