James Everett Proffitt, age 64, passed away April 14, 2016. He was a native of Madison County and son of the late David and Finnie Dill Proffitt.
He is survived by his daughters, Laura Pope (Michael), Crystal McGehee (Michael) and Angela Kidd (Matthew); sisters, Johanna Smith, Irene Shelton and Alma Jean Johnson, brother, Wayne Proffitt, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 18th, in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Ronnie Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Peek-Dill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Blue Ridge Funeral Service. PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754 to assist with final expenses.
