Gary Israel, 80, of 34 Israel Rd., passed away June 18, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of Buncombe County and the son of the late Ralph W. and Blanche Revis Israel. Mr. Israel was a US Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Gertrude Israel; daughters, Donna Moore (Robert) and Betty Owenby (Jerry); son, Allen Israel; sisters, Shirley Littrell, Revonda Banks and Virginia Lamb; brothers, Ray and Junior Israel; grandchildren, Travis Gowing, Matthew Parham, Stephen Israel, Timmy Israel and Jonathan Parham; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, June 21, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Stephen Israel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Owenby Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
