Johnnie Faye Hawkins Buckner, 87 of Sprinkle Creek Rd. passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Memorial Hospital – Mission Campus. She was a native of Madison County and daughter of the late Will and Minnie Humphries Hawkins. Johnnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard “Kenneth” Buckner, granddaughter, Christy Buckner, four sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Buckner was a member of California Creek Baptist Church. She was a CNA and worked in the pediatrics unit at Mission Hospital. Johnnie was a very kind and generous lady who enjoyed her canning and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter Leuretha Fluty (Dale) and their children, Joel Fluty (Krystina) and Joseph Fluty; son, Allen Buckner (Tina) and their son David Buckner (Jamye); great grandchildren, Kenneth Jackson Fluty and Quinn Alice Buckner.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 29, at California Creek Baptist Church. Reverend Josh McDevitt will officiate. The burial will follow at Buckner Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
