Bill Murray, 85, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his residence. He is a native of Madison County and son of the late Dick and Esta Hylemon Murray. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Bill is also preceded in death by his siblings; Atlas Crain, Jennings Murray, Irene Edsell, Ovalee Murray and Leonard Murray.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Murray, children; Roger and Darrell Murray, Cindy Westall, Doug Deitz and Kim Fisher, siblings; Joel Murray, Hattie Hailey, Estie Ellen Brent, five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 29, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Josh McDevitt will officiate. Burial will follow in the California Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers with Jack Shelton and Lloyd Pate serving as honorary pallbearers.
