Robert Gordon Davis, age 81, of Weaverville, NC, passed away at the Brian Center on Friday, January 23, 2015. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. He was formally employed by Perry Alexander Construction Co., Asheville Construction Co., Gulf Petroleum Transport and for the last 15 years as a bus driver for Buncombe County Schools.
He was the son of the late Herman and Daisy Wilson Davis. He is preceded in death by his wife Nadine Calloway Davis and a daughter, Patricia Dobson.
His survived by a daughter Deborah Pettit of Weaverville; grandchildren, Hilary Pettit of Seattle, WA, Robbie Pettit and R.G. Dobson of Weaverville; sisters, Evelyn Griffin of Candler, Lucille Wilson (Phil) of Fletcher, Hazel Burnette (Paul) of Arden, Jerri Perry (Frank) of Asheville, and Charlene Ballard (Jeff) of Weaverville.
A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 27th at Lewis Memorial Park with Rev. David Honeycutt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
