James W. Robertson, age 66, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015. He is the son of the late Charles Robert Robertson and Grace Robertson Brown. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Kathryn Ballard, Lucille Bassett, Joann Chapman, Libby Hudson and Elaine Riddle and brothers, Charles Robertson, Jr and Walter Brown.
His survived by his wife, Maxine Metcalf Robertson; step daughter, Debbie Carver; daughter, Jennifer Carver; grandson, Hunter Carver; sisters Betty Ponders and Patricia Brendle; brothers, Michael and Gary Brown; “very special” son, Scotty Carroll, and lifelong friend, Denny Davis.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2015 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel at Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Mickey Church, Scott Suttle and Gordon Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Tilden-Metcalf Cemetery.
