Hot Springs. James E. Davis, age 76, passed away at his home Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He is the son of the late Herman and Mary Goode Davis. He was a US Air Force Veteran, retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a beloved father and extraordinary man.
He is survived by his loving companion, Barbara Ricker; daughters, Jill Gideon (Mark) of Knoxville and Jenifer Summers (Silas) of Bristol; Barbara’s children, Eddie Ricker, Billy Ricker and Tina Steelman; sister, Imogene Reeves of Lake Junaluska, brother, Tommy Davis (Sheila) of Hot Springs; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 19th at 7:00 PM in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel at Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Rev. Randy Wood officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Hot Springs with Mars Hill VFW Post #5483 conducting military graveside rites.
