Katherine Elizabeth Harwood, 89, of 461 Paint Fork Road, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Rans and Mary Harwood. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harwood was preceded in death by her husband William G. Harwood and two sons; Rans O’Neil Harwood and Howard Harwood. She was a homemaker and member of Paint Fork Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Ball (Sammy), sons; Glenn and J. C. Harwood, sister; Frances Bradley, brother; James “Jimmy” Harwood, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 27, 2014 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the West Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
