William “Bill” Guy George , 84 of 879 California Creek Rd., passed away Monday, October 13, 2014. Mr. George was the son of the late Zadie “Guy” and Nannie “Belle” Carter George . He was a devout Christian and loving husband and father. Bill was also a US Army Veteran and carpenter and farmer. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Patty Lou Holcombe.
He is survived by his wife Christine Carter George, daughters: Rebecca (Jackie) Scruggs, Brenda George (Wayne) Rumple, son; Ray (Marsha) George, grandchildren: Michele Wilson, Steven George, Cody Scruggs, Alayna and Melody Rumple, great grandchildren: Christina, Brittany, Kimsey, Jacob, Tarin, Tristan and Cameron.
A funeral service will be held at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service at 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The Reverends Ted Richardsons and Homer Tweed will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
