Lester Lee Boone, 72, of 715 Hickory Drive, passed away Wednesday, October 01, 2014 at his residence. He was the son of the late Ernest and Evelyn Esta Howell Boone. Lester was an Air Force veteran and an avid trout fisherman who loved his grandchildren, especially Laney who was his pride and joy. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Katrina Boone.
Lester is survived by his wife, Wanda Gail Metcalf Boone; a daughter Julia Denise Griffin (Marvin); sister, Joann Greene; grandchildren J.J. Boyd (Kim), Jasmine Griffin, Shawnna Phillips, Lauren Boone; great grandchildren Laney Mulley and Faith Wood.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, October 4, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Billy Murray will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery.
