Wanda L. Hoglen, 67, of 49 Stacey Lane, was carried home by angels Thursday, April 3, 2014 at St Joseph Hospital. She was surrounded by her family who loved her very much. Wanda worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 22 years. She was known and loved by many employees. Special thanks to her supervisor Bobbie, co-workers Christine and Lisa, all of the doctors and nurses that took care of her. She was the daughter of the late Hobert and Frances Stevens Ledford. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the father of her children, Roger Dale Hoglan.
Wanda is survived by her children; Sherry Hoglan Rice (Kelvin) of Mars Hill and Roger Dewayne Hoglan (Annette) of Hickory, three sisters; Gloria Burrell (Chratus) of Weaverville, Barbara Metcalf of Asheville and Carolyn Carver (Dennis) of Mars Hill, two brothers; Ronald Ledford (Ann) of Oklahoma and Michael Ledford (Debi) of Oteen, grandchildren Breanna and Shelby Hoglan who lived with her, Amber Rice, Lexy Rice and Noah Riels and Joshua and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 4:00pm Sunday, April 6th, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. Reverends Kermit Ball and Bobby Hagen will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00pm prior to the service. Private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden in Candler. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hope Fund Asheville Savings Bank, Mars Hill in trust of Sharon Rice.
