Obituary for Ruth Stines (Lunsford)
Ruth Lunsford Stines, 73, of 988 North Fork Rd., passed away August 2, 2013 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Mrs. Stines was a native of Madison County living most of her life in Buncombe County. She was the daughter of the late Ralph “Doc” and Lockie Worley Lunsford. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by husband Howard Virgil Stines and brothers Junior and Loy Lunsford.
Mrs. Stines is survived by daughters Wanda Koch (William) and Denna Banks all of Barnardsville, sisters Mary Lou Ponder, Christine Wilson (Wayne), Jean Barnette (Danny), Nora Hensley and Velma Payne; brothers Howard Lunsford (Betty) and Kenneth Lunsford; grandchildren Jennifer Wallin, Sabrina Shelton, Kaylene Banks Riddle, Sandrina Koch and Kaylee Banks, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held 3:30pm, Sunday, August 4, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Nelson Ponder will officiate. The Burial will be 11:00am, Monday, August 5, at West Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to John F. Keever Solace Center, PO Box 5779, Asheville, NC 28813.
